It is with great sadness that I have to share the news that my dear friend, co-founder & business partner James Minkin passed away on Friday 12th June after a short brave battle with cancer.
Jim and I first met as graduates at Bass in the late 80’s, and through a shared love of music, rugby, beer and having a laugh we quickly became the best of friends.
In October 2005 we decided to brave the new world of setting up on our own and with that Purity Brewing Company was born!
From that day on we’ve always stuck to our core values: great quality beer, community, sustainability and our people. With Jim’s amazing attention to detail, love of the science in the making of beer, level headed approach and always making time for folk (not to mention his legendary brewery tours and company presentations!) he has been hugely instrumental in the success of Purity and we would not be the same today without him.
My deepest sympathies go out to all of Jim’s family and the many colleagues & friends he has touched across the brewing community.
Purity will never forget you Jim, and your spirit will forever be in our beer!
Cheers Paul x
