Purity Brewing Company is once again toasting national success with a trio of awards for Pure Gold, Mad Goose and Longhorn IPA at the Society of Independent Brewers Association (SIBA) National Beer Awards held at SIBA Beer X in Liverpool this week.
The SIBA Independent Beer Awards at Beer X UK are the trade association’s National finals and in order to earn a place at the competition brewers must first win at their regional competition – making the overall category Champions very much the ‘best of the best’ when it comes to British independent craft beer. Judged by brewers and industry experts and organized by the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) at their flagship Beer X UK event in Liverpool, the awards run across a huge range of beer style categories in cask, craft keg, bottle and can
At the National awards on Thursday evening, Purity’s Pure Gold won Gold medal for the Cask British Bitters; whilst Mad Goose picked up Gold in the Keg British bitters seeing the beer replicate its initial success back in 2008 by winning a national award in the first year of launch. Finally, Longhorn IPA won the Gold medal for keg premium bitters which follows its 2019 success at International Brewing Awards where it won the overall best keg ale. To top the evening off both Mad Goose and Longhorn also came in the top three of the overall keg champions. Purity’s gluten free Session IPA won a bronze medal for the keg premium pale ale category.
With the growth in craft keg and premium cask beer, these awards show that the quality and consistency that Purity has been known for since 2005 and is still at the forefront of everything the brewery does, producing some of the best modern day beers in the country.
Pure Gold was one of two beer first brewed by Purity brewed back in 2005. A refreshing golden ale with a dry and bitter finish. Brewed with only the finest English Maris Otter, Cara-gold and Wheat malts. Then generously hopped with Pilgrim, Citra, Bobek and Hereford Goldings hops that gives a moreish citrus taste.
Purity Brewing Co. Founder & CEO commented on the recent success, “We are incredibly proud to see any of our beers to be recognised by SIBA, let alone being named UK’s Best. It makes it all extra special to see our original beers Pure
Gold and Mad Goose pick up such prestige awards. They are two beers we’ve worked thoroughly hard on and we now have them in a place where we think they stand as some of the best available in the market. It is great to see that our dedication to Pure Quality and consistency across the business, in particular the brew house, is recognized on this scale. To see Longhorn IPA, follow up on the success from last year’s International Brewing Awards with another national award is something we are delighted with as it is such a great beer and a firm favourite among our loyal Puritans – Cheers!”
Not only did Purity get recognised for its exceptional beer at the awards, the Warwickshire based brewery was also named the ‘Best Green Business’ for their continued focus on sustainable business practices the brewery was built upon.
